A deeper look at Roel Funcken's "Vade" album
While the release of his first album gets closer, Roel Funcken (who is, we'll repeat it a few times again, one half of Funckarma) has prepared quite a few things to help everybody dive deeper into this dense, complex and lush debut full length. Besides the four tracks which you can listen to on the "Vade" page on this very site, a brand new site has been sent up over at roelfuncken.com, entirely dedicated to this album. Be sure to play with it and have a good look (and listen), as it contains many layers and additional information and sounds for those who are ready to hunt them.
Compartments EP is coming soon
It took him 3 years, until Steven (In A Mindset) decided to reveal some of his first tracks to the public. During these 3 years he was experimenting, building his equipment in search for his very own sound. "Compartments" is his first official release and more of a precursor for his debut album "Artifacts", to be expected this autumn. His sound has been described as Arcana meets Gridlock more than a few times, artists who have influenced him as well as many other different sources.
In A Mindset, some words before release
In A Mindset is the moniker of 27 year old Steven. The project was raised in 2009, after playing in various metal bands (FTE, Mortheim and still active in Serapeum), he decided to create something new inspired by various sound installation artists. His works range from dark ambient and neoclassical influences to industrial, noise textures and technoid/abstract rhythms. Allthough, sharing a huge love for the metal underground scene, making electronic music became a huge part of his life the last 3 years. Today he published post on his blog related to new album.
